Carter Max Howe

Carter Max Howe, 55, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away on February 27, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1970, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Jackie Lee Howe Sr. and Connie Sue Howe.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or searching for arrowheads. Carter was also a huge music lover who enjoyed playing his guitar, often with Jim Beam nearby, as the two seemed to go hand in hand. He treasured time spent with friends, sharing stories, music, and good company. Carter had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Carter was a big kid at heart, and being an uncle was truly his world. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly and cherished the time he spent with them. His playful spirit, laughter, and love for family will be remembered always.

He is survived by his siblings, Charles “Chuck” (Tina) Harper, Holly (Doug) Johnson, Elisha (Brian) Glass, and Christy Painter, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie Lee Howe Sr. and Connie Sue Howe, and his siblings, Jackie Howe and Louella Sue Harper.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Genda Funeral Home, Frankfort location. A time of sharing memories will begin at 1:00 p.m., and the family warmly invites all who attend to share a special story of Carter during that time. Cremation will follow the service.
