Clara spent her childhood in Rossville and was a proud Hornet, even graduating as the valedictorian of the class of 1956. Clara worked in the Purdue Union Business Office, where she retired in 1992. This made her a dedicated Boilermaker. She enjoyed fishing and especially her and Dick’s trips to Minnesota. Clara could often be found immersing herself in a new book, specifically anything written by James Patterson. She loved to play cards and crochet as well. Above all, Clara had a special love and dedication for her family and grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Along with her husband of 67 years, Clara is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Jim) Newton and Tracy Mavity; Grandchildren, Tyler (Jordan) Jones and Dylan (Cheyanne) Allen, Hailee Newton, and Gabbie (Eric) Hamilton; Great-Grandchildren, Finleigh, Lainey, and Isla Hamilton, Harper, Hadley, and Hayden Jones, Esther, Henry, Elliot, and Beau Allen; Sister, Katie (Dewey) Tipmore; Sister-in-law, Dellene Reed and multiple nieces and nephews.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Robert (Norma), Richard, and Barbara (Pete) Hamm.
