As part of the first agenda item, Superintendent Dr. Jim Hanna welcomed Mr. Pete Smith, Business Development Specialist with Performance Services, to address the Board and community. Performance Services is a design-build firm that provides seamless planning, design, and construction under one contract, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Their approach emphasizes clear communication, accelerated timelines, and guaranteed performance, eliminating change orders while delivering high-quality outcomes for schools.
Mr. Smith, a retired educator and coach of 33 years, shared his appreciation for the opportunity to visit Rossville Schools and reflected on his transition from education into the construction field, serving schools and municipalities. He noted his long-standing connection to Indiana schools and his familiarity with the region through years of coaching.
During the presentation, Mr. Smith announced that Performance Services would be awarding a $1,000 donation to the Rossville Consolidated School District. The contribution stems from a raffle held in conjunction with the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents conference in December. Dr. Hanna was selected as a recipient, earning the district the award.
“On behalf of Performance Services, it is my pleasure to present this $1,000 check,” Smith said. “We are proud to support school corporations, and I know this will be used for a meaningful purpose.”
The funds are designated for use at the discretion of the superintendent to support district needs and initiatives.
Dr. Hanna expressed appreciation for the donation and the continued support of organizations like Performance Services, noting that partnerships such as these positively impact students and the broader school community.
The Board and those in attendance recognized the contribution as an example of strong collaboration between education and industry partners committed to supporting public schools.
