Lawrence C. Wilkinson, 77, of Colfax, passed away at 11:46 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born on June 27, 1949 in Huntingburg, IN to the late Richard C. and Claudine M. (Bailey) Wilkinson. He married Tina M. (Lashbrook) Wilkinson on July 21,1984, at the Colfax Wesleyan Church, and she survives.
He attended Attica High School and received his GED from there. Later he had taken courses at Purdue University for Environmental Management and had also received his certification from Ivy Tech for his Volunteer Fire Fighters Experience which he used to serve on the Colfax Volunteer Fire Department for 5 years.
He had lived in Attica, IN for many years before moving to Colfax in 1983. While living there, he had worked for Myers Welding (4 yrs) and Harrison Steel (14 yrs). After moving to Colfax, he started working in Lebanon, IN at Electro Chemical Coating (18 yrs) and also worked for TLC (8 yrs) before retiring in 2011. After his retirement he started mowing yards around Colfax, and he liked tinkering in his garage. He had also bought several storage units. He liked to keep himself busy. He also enjoyed going to auctions, watching Westerns and other older shows on TV. He liked doing Dotz pictures and spending time with his family.
In June of 2024, his life was drastically changed. He had a heart attack and cardiac arrest along with multiple strokes that took all the good things that he enjoyed doing away from him. He struggled for 2 years, but he refused to give up. He fought till the end. He fought a good fight.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, sons, Toby D. (Shelly) and James R. of Crawfordsville, IN and Jeremy A. (Lindsay) of Lebanon, IN and daughters, Melody D. (Andrew) Feltner of Crawfordsville, IN and Misty M. (Joshua) Barnett of Attica, IN. Two sisters are also surviving, Belinda (Frank) Vickery of Covington, IN and Karol (Mike) Hays of Williamsport, IN. And his mother in law, Marjory Lashbrook from Colfax. He also has 15 surviving grandchildren: Blake, Dallas, Kody, Kristopher, Hanna, Jeremiah, Chloey, Jacob, Joslyn, Isabelle, Josiah, Parker, Jacelyn, Malachi and Gideon, and 6 Great-grandchildren with one on the way.
One granddaughter, Trisha Rose, proceeded him in death in 2012. He is also proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Frankie Allen and Jerry Wayne, brother in law, Tony Marcum, sisters in law, Sharon Wilkinson, Diana Disinger, and Debbie Marcum. His father in law, Harold G. Lashbrook also passed in 2022.
He has several surviving In Laws, cousins, one Uncle, and lots of very good friends, and he cherished them all. This man never met a stranger. He was well liked by many. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family with all his heart.
His services will be held at the Colfax Wesleyan Church, in Colfax, where he attended church for many years. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 8th, from 11:00 am to the time of service. With the service to begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Joshua Barnett will officiate the service and burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery.
