James E. Reconnu, 83, of Indianapolis and formerly of Frankfort, passed away October 10, 2026 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. He was born on September 21, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Norman L. and Marilyn Louise (Steinmiller) Reconnu. He married Joan Gleason and she preceded him in passing. He married Judy Graves and she also preceded him in passing.
Jim attended school near Pittsburgh and served in the United States Army. He painted houses for a living. He enjoyed flea markets and looking for things to resell.
Surviving are his daughter: Kristin, 6 step-children, step-brother: Arthur Pradai of Pennsylvania, along with 10 grandchildren, including Samantha Horton, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Shawn Sowards, brother: Norman Reconnu, and a sister.
A memorial visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.
