Clinton County Remains Under Flood Watch Through Sunday AM

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says a Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning for portions of central Indiana, including Clinton County, as well as east central Indiana, south central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest Indiana and west central Indiana.

Besides Clinton, affected areas in central Indiana are Bartholomew, Boone, Decatur, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Howard, ,Johnson, Madison, Morgan, Rush, Shelby and Tipton.

Areas in east central Indiana under the watch are Delaware, Henry and Randolph. South central areas under the watch are Brown, Jackson, Lawrence and Monroe. Jennings in the lone area in southeast Indiana under the watch, while southwest Indiana areas include Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin and Sullivan. West central areas are Clay, Fountain, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Vermillion and Vigo.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected through Sunday morning in areas that have already received significant rainfall over the past few days. This will likely worsen flooding of streams, low lying areas and poor drainage areas.

Individuals are encouraged to monitor forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
