Center Township organized the creation of a steering committee that attended the 2018 National Rx and Heroin Summit, in Atlanta, GA. This team came to a shared consensus that drafting a community strategic plan targeting enforcement, treatment, and prevention through a committee-based structure is the direction needed in our community.
The steering committee consists of Center Township, City/County officials, and community organizations all focused on decreasing the impact that opiates and heroin are having on families, education, and crime in our community. By increasing our treatment options and prevention measures in Center Township, the City of Frankfort, and Clinton County.
The 2018 Rx and Heroin Summit included information from local, state, and federal agencies that are targeting the problem. The goal of the committee is to release a community strategic plan by the end of May. This will be done by having all local agencies working together to identify areas of need, setting measurable goals/objectives, and continually looking at the data to determine effectiveness.
