200 Attend Annual Crossing Banquet

The Crossing School of Business and Entrepreneurship annual banquet Tuesday evening attracted over 190 students, faculty, community leaders, parents, school administrators, elected officials and business leaders.

Over 190 people attended the annual Crossing Banquet at the Edward Jones Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.

The Crossing School in Clinton County has 94 students and graduates about 40 students each year.  22 are on target to graduate this December.  The faculty team at the Frankfort campus consists of 6 full time professionals.

The Crossing School story has grown to serve 12 community campuses state-wide from Indianapolis to Elkhart.  Crossing Schools in Indiana started in 2003 and the Frankfort Crossing Campus started in 2009.  The Frankfort campus graduated seven students in that first year.

The Crossing School in Clinton County saves the County nearly $800,000 per year in county-wide probationary department costs compared to historical 2009 figures when Eric Spencer helped lead the charge to start the program locally, according to MC Shan Sheridan.

Many times more impactful than the savings to taxpayers, the Crossing has racked up impressive numbers testifying to the success of the students and a program that leads to the development of local student talent and life preparation/career skills.

Crossing students sat at each table during the banquet to answer questions.  Students also helped Angry Donkey with set up and tear down.

The goal of the banquet was to raise over $40,000 and showcase the Crossing program and accomplishments of the students.  Final figures are still pending.  Crossing leadership is hopeful for the desired outcome.
