Additional Charges Filed Against Witham Pediatrician

DR. JONATHAN CAVINS

Dr. Jonathon W. Cavins, 41-years-old, is facing additional charges after additional victims come forward. In addition to the original charge of Child Molesting, a Level 4 Felony, the Boone County Prosecutor has filed additional charges including: two counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, a Level 5 Felony, and one count of Vicarious Sexual Gratification, a Level 5 Felony.

After Dr. Cavins was arrested on Friday, February 22, additional victims have contacted Lebanon Police Department with allegations of inappropriate conduct by Dr. Cavins during physical examinations. Detectives conducted forensic interviews with two additional victims at Sylvia’s Child Advocacy Center in Lebanon over the weekend. Information obtained from the victims in these forensic interviews was substantially similar to that obtained from the first victim and led to the filing of the additional charges.
The latest victims to come forward are a 16-year-old male, who was 15-years-old at the time of the incident, and a 14-year -old male. Detectives are working to schedule forensic interviews with two other potential victims in the coming days.
We would like to encourage parents of children who were patients of Dr. Cavins to talk to their children about anything unusual or uncomfortable took place during their physical examinations.
