Ag Publications Buy Farm Show

Inside INdiana Business is reporting that two Indiana agriculture publications have purchased the Indiana-Illinois Farm and Outdoor Power Equipment Show. Hoosier Ag Today and Farm World say the Indianapolis show will be renamed to The Indiana Farm Equipment and Technology Expo when it returns for its 40th year in December.

The publications jointly purchased the show from Richard Sherman, who has operated the event for the past 39 years. This year’s show is set for December 11-13 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Hoosier Ag Today President Gary Truitt says the the name change reflects the future of ag. He says the show sill focus on cutting-edge ag technology in areas including robotics, artificial intelligence, seed genetics, precision agriculture and bioscience.

“This is not a gathering of geeks,” says Truitt, “but a practical showcase of the latest technology and innovation that farmers can take home and put to work in their operations.”

Farm World‘s Toni Hodson will serve as show manager. The publications will work together to promote the event.
