Air Quality Warning Issued for Clinton County

The officials at the Indiana Environmental Management have called for an Air Quality Action Day on Friday for several Indiana counties, including Clinton County through midnight tonight.

Besides Clinton, other affected counties include Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion and Vigo.

An Air Quality Action Day means that a combination of the high temperatures, light winds, and other factors, are expected to produce conditions where high levels of ozone emissions may exceed federally mandated standards. Hot and dry conditions will lead to an elevated fire danger this afternoon.
