The Frankfort/Clinton County Airport Authority is making plans to show off its new digs to the community in mid-May with a community open house.
“We’re going to have a public grand opening, a ribbon cutting and an open house for the community,” said Airport Authority Board President Alan Dunn. “We’re going to try and target having that on Saturday, May 18, from 8 in the morning to 11:30. We’re going to have a pancake breakfast and the community is welcome to come out.”
Dunn said that won’t be the only activity on that day.
“We’re going to put the word out into the aviation community and have a fly-in so there will be planes hopefully coming from other areas in central Indiana coming into in to see the new facility, the new hangar, the new terminal building,” said Dunn. “There should be some activity for people to see when they’re here. We’re working to try to have some vintage World War II aircraft potentially on site for people to take a look at.”
Dunn added there will be Inflatables and bounce houses for the kids during the open house.
“We’re really excited,” said Dunn. “We want to show off our building. We want the community to see this wonderful asset that they have in the community.”
