
The U.S. Department of Transportation, which oversees the FAA says the AIP funding is distributed based on activity levels and project needs.
Indiana airports receiving grants include:
- Anderson Municipal Airport-Darlington Field – more than $2.7 million for runway rehabilitation
- Fort Wayne International Airport – more than $5.4 million for runway rehabilitation
- Gary/Chicago International Airport – $4.75 million for runway rehabilitation
- Eagle Creek Airpark in Indianapolis – more than $2.8 million for taxiway construction
- Kokomo Municipal Airport – $360,000 for taxiway rehabilitation
- Indianapolis Regional Airport in McCordsville – more than $860,000 for apron rehabilitation
- Paoli Municipal Airport – $832,500 to extend the runway
- Indiana State Department of Transportation – $ 182,000 to update the state’s system plan study
