Alice Ballard, 79, of Frankfort, passed away October 29, 2026 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born December 31, 1946 to Howard and Dorothy King in Frankfort, Indiana. She married Hugh “Tim” Ballard August 14, 1965 in Frankfort, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2017.
Alice was a 1965 Frankfort High School graduate and remained in Frankfort as a lifelong resident. She worked at Emerson, formerly Mallory Controls, in town for 42 years before retiring. She was a member of the Community Christian Church where she loved her Women’s Bible Study, helping with Vacation Bible School, and the many outreach ministries of the church. In her spare time, she enjoyed completing puzzles. Alice loved being with her family and spending time as well with the families from her church, and she loved enjoying her daily Pepsi.
Surviving are: her daughter, Kim (Kevin) Cast of Frankfort; her grandchildren, Sara (Cory) Ploughe of Lafayette, Anna Stevens of Lafayette, Candi Byars of Noblesville, Justin (Amanda) Byars of Frankfort, Kammi Shaw of Frankfort, and Tony (Liz) Cast of Frankfort; and her great-grandchildren, Addison, Kyelynn, Autumn, Journey, Greyson, Kynnsley, Natalie, and Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Howard and Dorothy; her husband, Tim; her brothers, Richard “Dick” King and Joe King; and her sister, Nancy Stuard.
Friends may visit Tuesday, November 3, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Community Christian Church, 1944 S Jackson St, Frankfort, Indiana. A service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Steve Harbaugh and Steve Woods officiating. Burial will be at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
