All-Star Game Scholarship Fundraiser Set for Saturday

Clinton County high school senior boys will take on their alumni counterparts in an all-star basketball game to raise funds for those involved in the game who have applied to the Battle of the Badges Scholarship Program this Saturday, April 28 at the Clinton Central Junior/Senior High School varsity basketball gymnasium.

Available at the door on Saturday, tickets are $5 for the game that starts at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

Anyone wishing to donate to the scholarship effort can send a check payable to the Frankfort Fire Department with “scholarship” in the memo line and mail it to the Fire Department, 201 South Clay Street, Frankfort, IN 46041.

Thirteen high school seniors applied for the scholarship program this year, with the game as a fundraiser made possible by donations from local area businesses and individuals. Public safety officials are hoping to raise $2,000 to be able to award scholarships to four of the applicants. The girls’ game was cancelled due to a lack of senior girls to play.

This year marks the third annual all-star game. In the past two years, the Battle of the Badges basketball competitions raised $6,965 for scholarships.

The annual Battle of the Badges basketball competition between firefighters and police officers will take place this fall.
