Amy Orr Harbor will be teaching a class entitled AncestryDNA 101 at the Frankfort Community Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Room. Amy will show participants how to navigate their DNA home page on Ancestry.com as well as how to connect their tree to their DNA results. She will explain Genetic Communities and DNA Circles and how they can help you learn more about your ancestry. She will also discuss what your results can tell you about your matches and how they are related to you. Being a hands-on learner herself, Amy is happy to have you bring your laptop or tablet and follow along.
A lifelong lover of genealogy and family history, Amy was transplanted from Colorado to West Lafayette twenty-four years ago. She holds bachelors and master’s degrees in human geography from the University of Colorado and is currently a member of the Board of Governors and a researcher at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. Amy also founded and chairs the Genealogy Interest Group of the Purdue Women’s Club.
