Anna L. Roth, 96, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. She was born in Shelby County, Indiana on July 25, 1924 to George R. and Leona Mae (Moore) Tindall. She married Martin J. Roth on June 27, 1942 in Frankfort; he preceded her in death on April 8, 2010.
Anna grew up in Shelby County and graduated from Mt. Auburn High School in 1942. She lived in Florida for 23 years before returning to Frankfort in 2007. She had worked at Freeman Dept. Store and as a cashier for Fudge’s Market before retiring as instructor of the House of James Beauty School in 1981.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where she served as WELCA president and played the organ for many years. She also served as president of the Lafayette area WELCA and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a Gold Lady for 23 years and a Girl Scout Leader for 17 years, including serving as the Clinton County Chairperson for the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed crocheting and playing her keyboard.
Anna is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patty Roth of Lebanon; 21 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her children, Ruth, Mary Bell Harness, Shirley (husband Ed) Rose, and Martin “Marty” Roth; and her sisters, Mary (husband, Duane) Hamblin and Georgia Gorman-Brockman; and two son-in-laws.
A memorial service is planned for June 12, 2021. Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is entrusted with the arrangements.
