Annual Indiana Sheriff’s Association Youth Summer Camp Gears Up For June

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office released additional information regarding the 44th Annual Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Youth Leadership Camp approaching in June.

The camp will be held from June 17 through June 20 at Pine Creek Camp for the northern part of Indiana for boys and girls who are currently in the seventh or eighth grade and are interested in learning more about a possible career in law enforcement. The camp is intended to provide a meaningful experience while supporting the formation of relationships between the participants from across the state and law enforcement officers, who wills serve as counselors and instructors for the camp.

The camp will have the participants engage with outdoor activities alongside lessons about law enforcement within doors. For community members with children that may be interested in the opportunity, more information may be received from their school district where the district will provide an application and transportation information. Applications will close on June 1.

“We encourage parents to talk to their kids if this interests them,” Carroll County Sheriff Tony Liggett wrote. “Our Sheriff deputies who go always enjoy getting to experience the camp with the children, getting to connect with them and getting to encourage this career.”

Activities include police-related activities, summer camp experience and mud run and iron man competition.
