Anthony Captures First Sectional Wrestling Championship

Frankfort High School wrestler Elijah Anthony won the Frankfort Sectional tournament this past weekend.

In the quarterfinal round, he pinned Clinton Prairie’s Brayden Mullendore in 35 seconds. In the semifinals, he went against Fisher’s Dylan Parodi and again won by fall in 2:55. In the finals, Anthony had to wrestle Carmel in the sectional finals by the third year in a row. This time, he came out as the victor as he won his first sectional championship with an 8-2 victory.

Anthony will wrestle in the regional meet on Saturday at Frankfort.

Other FHS results included: Jimmy Ostler (5th), Eyrka Pillion (6th), Leo Roa (6th) and Charlie Garcia (6th).

Hot Dogs Fall to Crawfordsville

Crawfordsville scored the first nine points of the game en route to a 86-62 victory over Frankfort Friday night in Crawfordsville.

Landen Majia, Jade Ayers and Deacon Spencer scored 14 points apiece to lead the Hot Dogs. Riley Goodnight added nine.

The JV team lost 58-53. Kye Kirby led the team with 18 points. Eli Oldham added 13.

FHS Swimmers Beaten by McCutcheon

Both Frankfort swim teams lost to McCutcheon Thursday night. The boys lost 99-78 and the girls were beaten 93-79.

Two Hot Dogs Named Region IV All Stars
Senior wide receiver Jade Ayers and senior Gabe Chavez have been voted as Region IV All Stars. Both had outstanding senior seasons for the Hot Dogs.
Ayers finished with career with 72 receptions and over 1,500 all-purpose yards. Chavez ended the season third in the state in tackles per game and fifth in total tackles with 151.
Both will be up for consideration for the North team and a potential spot to play in the North/South All-Star Game.
Rossville Girls Top Delphi
Madison Miller scored 17 points and Emma Lawson added 13 as Rossville defeated Delphi 53-40 Thursday night. Kennedy Houser added eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Miller also grabbed nine rebounds.
