Several area gymnasts are being recognized after winning state titles at the Indiana Xcel Platinum state meet held last weekend in Bloomington.
According to information from the Kokomo Flipsters program, three athletes captured individual state championships while competing against top-level gymnasts from across Indiana.
The state champions included Adalyn Rocchio, Paisley Ludlow and Eliana Weaver. The meet featured some of the highest-level competitors in the state within the Xcel Platinum division.
Additional local athletes also turned in strong performances at the state meet.
Paisley Ludlow, a sixth grader at Tri-Central, earned a first-place finish on beam. Adalyn Rocchio, a seventh grader at Western, captured a first-place finish in the all-around competition.

Eliana Weaver, who participates in the Challenge I Program through Classical Conversations of Frankfort, won the all-around title in the senior division while also earning top finishes on bars.
Other competitors included Macie Brovont, a ninth grader at Clinton Central, and Marley Herron, a ninth-grade student enrolled in online school, who both contributed strong performances for the Flipsters program.
Officials say more results could be forthcoming, as another area gymnast, Kelbie Brovont, recently had a standout meet that included a state title in an event and an all-around championship. Additional details are expected to be released following spring break, as several Howard County schools and the Flipsters gym are currently closed.
The Indiana Xcel Platinum state meet brings together some of the best gymnasts from across the state, highlighting the depth of talent in local and regional programs.
