Armed Robbery Results in Two Arrests in Lebanon

On December 31, 2018 at approximately 1:26 a.m., Officers with the Lebanon Police Department were dispatched to the PNC Bank, located at 202 East Washington Street, for an individual that had been robbed at gunpoint.
Officers spoke with the 43-year-old victim, who reported that he was approached by a Black male demanding money after he withdrew it from the ATM. Initially the victim refused; however, the suspect pointed a gun at him, so he complied and gave them his money. As the suspect got into a passenger car and left, the victim called 911.
Within a couple minutes after the call to 911 having been dispatched, Officers located the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Park Street and Busby Street. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle; however, the suspect refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued to Fordice Street, south on Grant Street, and Southeast on Indianapolis Avenue. The suspect vehicle failed to negotiate the round-about
at Indianapolis Avenue and Hendrix Drive, causing it to crash and come to a stop in a field on the southwest side of the round-about.
Two Black males, who later identified as Perry R. Kendrick, 23 from Indianapolis, and Marshawn D. Phelps, 23 from Indianapolis, were seen by officers running from their crashed vehicle. After a short foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered cash from one of the suspects and a handgun from the vehicle.
Phelps was booked into the Boone County Jail on preliminary charges of Armed Robbery, Pointing a Firearm, Theft, Carrying a Handgun without a Permit, and
Resisting Law Enforcement. Kendrick was booked into the Boone County Jail on preliminary charges of Armed Robbery, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash.
