Arrest Made in September 29, 2025 Shooting I-465

An Indianapolis man has been arrested for his alleged role in a September 29, 2025 shooting along I-465. Indiana State Police Detectives from the Indianapolis Post responded to the incident last Monday on I-465 near the 3.5 mile marker. Preliminary investigation at the scene led investigators to believe the adult male victim was riding in the same vehicle as the suspect, they got out of the car and walked along the side of I-465. While they were outside the car, the suspect allegedly fired at least one shot, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. People driving past saw the victim lying on the side of the road and called 911. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Monday October 6, 2025, the investigation led detectives to a motel near 34th and Shadeland, where they believed the suspect to be. When detectives and Indiana State Police SWAT members approached the motel the suspect fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later by troopers on the scene. Detectives also recovered a firearm believed to be used in the shooting.

Detectives arrested 30 year old Jason Twombly of Indianapolis on the following preliminary charges:Aggravated Battery – Level 3 Felony
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – Level 5 Felony
Twonbly was transported to the Marion County Jail and incarcerated.

All crimes mentioned in this release area alleged and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
