AT&T* and Human-I-T are providing 70 refurbished laptops to adult students in need served by the Learning Network of Clinton County in Frankfort. The laptops, funded by an AT&T contribution, were given to pre-selected adult learners who have digital divide barriers.

AT&T also announced a $23,000 contribution to the Learning Network of Clinton County to support their digital literacy program.“These laptops from AT&T will truly be transformative for our adult learners facing digital barriers,” said Melinda Grismer, Director, Learning Network of Clinton County. “With reliable access to technology, our students can complete coursework for their high school equivalency, English as a Second Language (ESL), citizenship, driver’s education, and technology classes, and build the digital skills they need to succeed in the workforce. AT&T’s generous $23,000 contribution to our Technology Today program will help us continue to ensure every learner has the tools and confidence they need to thrive.”

According to U.S. Census Bureau data, millions nationwide, including in Indiana, still don’t have access to the internet or connected devices needed to fully participate in the online world – an issue known as the digital divide.
“In today’s digital age, access to technology is a necessity – not a luxury,” said Bill Soards, President, AT&T Indiana. “We are proud to collaborate with the Learning Network of Clinton County to help close the digital equity gap and provide our adult students with the digital resources they need to be successful in life.” “Closing the digital divide requires all of us – local leaders, educators, businesses, and community members – working together,” said Clinton County Commissioner Jordan Brewer. “Since the pandemic, the Learning Network of Clinton County has launched innovative programming to meet the needs of adult learners who live and work in Clinton County.

Thanks to AT&T’s generous laptop donations and financial support for digital literacy, the Learning
Network will be able to help more residents access the technology and opportunities they need to succeed.” The Learning Network of Clinton County will use the $23,000 AT&T contribution to enhance their Technology Today program. Established to address digital literacy gaps in the community, the program provides personalized support to help adult learners develop essential digital literacy skills. This effort is part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
