Mrs. Barbara D. Smith, 89, went home to be with the Lord, Friday morning, June 11, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born in Frankfort, Indiana, on April 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Hubert and Etta (Watkins) Huffer.
On May 12, 1950, she was married to Maurice R. “Mick” Smith in Darlington, Indiana. They had shared 61 wonderful years together before he passed away on July 29, 2011.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. She loved taking care of her family and the home. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. Barbara was a faithful member of Christian Liberty Church east of Lebanon and a former member of the Utah Home Economics Club in Sheridan.
Survivors include, two daughters, Judy Camp of Frankfort and Carol (Michael) Moore of Lebanon; two granddaughters, Maurica (Matt) Cicci of New York City and Meredith Camp of Frankfort; and one great grandson, Jack Felty.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Thomas Huffer, and a son-in-law, Ronald Camp.
Visitation is planned from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Scotland Cemetery, rural Kirklin, Indiana.
