Barbara Dorsam Kroehle, 95, Plano, TX passed away on August 1st, 2026, in her residence at Prestonwood Court. Barb, as she was known, was a devoted wife, mother and friend whose strength, grace and resilience touched all who knew her. She was a constant source of love and support for her family.
Mrs. Kroehle was born July 25, 1931, in Frankfort, Indiana to William “Bud” and Martha (Stevenson) Dorsam. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1949 and went on to attended Purdue University, where she met her husband, Thomas P. Kroehle. She was a little sister of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. She and Tom married on November 6th, 1952. Barb worked as bookkeeper, while her husband served in the Army. She was the perfect executive wife, living in many metropolitan areas such as Cleveland and Columbus, OH, Pittsburg, PA, Bristol, TN and Overland Park, KS. She moved to Plano TX upon the passing of her husband in 1996, to be near her family, where she resided for her final 30 years. The last 15 years she was surrounded by her sons and grandchildren.
Survivors included 2 sons, Thomas P. Kroehle, Jr, and Jeffrey W. Kroehle, both of Plano, TX. Their spouses are Tracey E. Kroehle and Nadia Kroehle, respectively. Also surviving are her 2 grandchildren, Shena Ashmore and Benjamin Kroehle, 3 great-grandchildren, William Ashmore V, Pierce Ashmore and Eden Ashmore, brother-in- law, Robert Albano and sister-in-law, Fran Dorsam, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas P. Kroehle, her sister, Cathy Jane Albano, and her 2 brothers, Ronald Dorsam and James Dorsam.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 15th at 12:00 p.m. at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 E Clinton St, Frankfort IN 46041. Burial will be following the service at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, IN. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Noon on Saturday, August 15th at the funeral home.
