Barbara G. (Hamilton) Richardson Walsh, 87 of Frankfort, passed away January 15, 2025 at her home. She was born September 11, 1937 in Hoopeston, Illinois to Paul Hamilton and Bill & Opal (Nosler) Hamilton Schmidt. Her first marriage was to Edwin A. Richardson. She then married Robert A. Walsh on January 6, 1981 and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1997.
Barb spent her early years in Hoopeston, Illinois, attended grade school in Lafayette and was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School. She worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Frankfort and for 16 years, worked side by side with her husband Bob at Walsh’s TV & Appliance in downtown Frankfort. She had also worked at Paul Phillippe Resource Center and Personal Finance Company. She was president of Riley grade school P.T.A, was Brownie Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Webalo Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader. In 1967 she was recognized by the Outstanding Young Women of America for her outstanding ability, accomplishments and service to her community, county and profession. Barb was a former member the First Christian Church, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a lifetime member of Women of the Moose.
Barb is survived by 2 sons, Larry E. (Barb) Richardson of Monticello, Stephen A. (Jana) Richardson of Fishers, stepson, Rob T. (Kellie) Walsh of Mooresville, daughter, Cathy Jo Wills of Frankfort and step-daughter, Ronda (Jeff) Walsh Schwab of W. Lafayette, sister, Vi Wilson of Mahomet, Illinois, daughter-in-law, Linda Walsh of Crawfordsville, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, with one due soon.
She was preceded in death by step-son, Scott A. Walsh, sister, Judy Donoho and brothers, James Schmidt and Chuck Schmidt.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Civic Theater or TPA Park Christmas Lights.
