Barbara Jane Davies, 80, of Frankfort, died December 25, 2022 at Mulberry Health. She was born March 24, 1942 in Lafayette, Ind. to Joe W. & Jane (Fenn) Imel. Her first marriage and the father of her children was Thomas J. Lawler. She later married Maurice “Maurie” Davies on June 8, 1996 and he survives.
Barbara was a 1960 gradua
te of Frankfort High School and attended Purdue University for 2 years. She was a lifelong Clinton County resident. Barbara worked for The Farmer’s Bank as a teller, beginning at the Marsh branch and becoming the manager there. She also worked at Kirklin branch and finished her career at Frankfort branch, retiring from there in 2006 after 25 years. She was a member of the Master Gardeners with the Frankfort Public Library, was a past member of Michigantown Christian Church as well as Tri Kappa. Barbara loved Easter, and was known to hide over 2,800 eggs. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, auctions and Christmas time with her family.
She is survived by her husband: Maurice “Maurie” Davies of Frankfort, 2 sons: David Lawler of rural Kirklin and Brad Lawler of Rushville, IN, daughter: Terri Jo (Scott) Reese of Ocala, FL, 2 sisters: Margaret (Allen) Imel Butler of Tell City, IN, Susan Imel of Columbus, OH, 2 step-sons: James (Lindsey) Davies of Mulberry, Brian Davies of Tampa, FL and daughter-in-law: Sara Lawler of Frankfort. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren as well as extended family and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael J. Lawler, grandson, Devin Bradley Lawler, daughter-in-law, Janet Lawler, and brother, Blake Imel.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. January 5, 2023 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Geetingsville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Master Gardeners, Clinton County Cancer Fund or Clinton County Humane Society.
