Barbara P. Suter, 92, of Rossville, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. She was born in Lafayette on February 15, 1931, to Glenn A. and Clara P. (McCoy) Remaly. She married Laurel K. Suter on September 29, 1951; he preceded her in death on November 23,1997.
Barbara was an award winning cheerleader and graduated from Monitor High School. Barbara had attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lafayette. She had de-tasseled corn in her early years then worked for Schnaible Drugstore, McClure Drugstore, Superior Resistor, and Andover. Barbara loved to mow her yard and swim in her pool, enjoyed flowers, walking at the mall, and being outdoors but more importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by a son, Kenneth (Cheryl) Suter of Lafayette; daughter, Candace (Jerry) Silverthorn of Rossville; grandchildren, Scott (Gina) Silverthorn, Andy (Jessica) Silverthorn, Lori (Josh) Hodgson, Kate (John) Misustin, Emily (Ryan) Gorman, Austin Suter, and Creighton Suter; great grandchildren, Corey, Samantha, Megan, Brody, Luke, Abby, Caleb, Isaiah, Grace, Max, and Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurel; daughter, Brenda Neudecker, son-in-law, Phil Neudecker; brother, Glenn Remaly; sister, Wathena Shively; grandson, Eliot Suter; and great granddaughter, Courtney Silverthorn.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Rossville Cemetery with Pastor Paul Whitaker officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023
