Bauer Family Resources Partners with Duke Energy to Help Head Start in Delphi

Duke Energy has awarded Bauer Family Resources with a $5,000 matching grant through their Local Impact Grant to support Bauer’s Head Start program operated at Delphi Community Elementary School.

The grant will support expenses related to classroom and food supplies for the 2022-2023 school year which will begin in the month of September. Bauer’s Head Start programs provide preschool age children with kindergarten readiness programming that meets their emotional, social, health,
nutritional, and psychological needs.

Tristen Comegys, Bauer’s Chief Executive Officer, shared “We are thrilled to partner with Duke Energy to amplify the impact Head Start has in Delphi. Partnership is a core component of Head Start because the federal funds awarded only make up 80% of the needed funding. Head Start agencies are required to acquire the remaining 20% through a non-federal match which includes partnerships, volunteers, and donations.”

“We know that jumpstarting a child’s education can improve their chances of success,” said Dan Rhodes, Government, and Community Relations Manager at Duke Energy. “We’re proud to make this investment in Bauer Family Resources’ Head Start program to help ensure families in Delphi continue to have access to high-quality early childhood education.”
