Bauer Family Services Requesting Proposals From Eligible Applicants

Bauer Family Resources Community Partners is requesting proposals from eligible applicants to provide child abuse and neglect prevention services for children and families in the Department of Child Services Region 5.

Community Partners will fund both primary and secondary prevention programs. Primary prevention focuses on strategies for the general public. Secondary prevention includes strategies that are focused on those who are at risk for abuse or neglect of their children.

The Regional Service Council has identified the risk areas and needs for families in Region 5 and is looking for creative and sustainable solutions.  The priority areas for this grant cycle are:

  • Substance Abuse Prevention which may include prevention and early intervention groups for youth and adults; step down services from probation; supportive services for family members of those experiencing substance abuse; in school or afterschool programs for youth; or costs associated with substance abuse treatment.
  • Mental Health because many families in this region do not have access to mental health treatments. There are long waiting lists and some families do not have adequate insurance.
  • Food insecurity because families in the region, especially outside of Tippecanoe County, do not have access to an adequate number of food pantries and low-cost food options
  • Domestic violence prevention programs and activities
  • Youth enrichment programs and supplies
  • Development of sustainable housing solutions for families which could include paying expenses for setting up households or working with landlords to qualify for housing voucher programs.
