Dr. Grace Mary Gouveia will teach a beginning genealogy class at the Frankfort Community Public Library (FCPL) on Thursday, October 10 at 6 p.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Room. The class will address the questions of how to begin your search, where to search, and how to find information when searching. In the class, you will learn how to determine if you have found YOUR ancestor and well as how to fill-in charts as you search and how to store written information.
Dr. Gouveia is currently the archivist for Clinton County, Indiana, working with old court cases and genealogical questions. She was the head of Genealogy and Local History at the FCPL for about 10 years and, as such, taught many classes on genealogy. Dr. Gouveia also works with individuals as a paid consultant.
The cost of the class is $2. Registration is required. To register, call 765-654-8746, visit myfcpl.org/calendar, or stop by the library.
