Bert C. Miller

Bert C. Miller, 94, of Frankfort, passed away, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. He was a lifelong Clinton County resident, born September 16, 1931, to George and Edith (Kressley) Miller. He married Gladys Barnhart on June 11, 1952. She preceded him in passing on September 17, 2013.

Bert was a 1951 graduate of Rossville High School. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Bert spent his career serving Clinton County on the Frankfort Police Department until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the American Legion. He was a hardworking man and served the community and his family throughout his life. When he wasn’t serving others, he enjoyed restoring tractors and cars, especially his 1956 Buick.

Bert is survived by his children, Jeffry (Sheila) Miller, Larry (Pamela) Miller, Richard (Melody) Miller, Melody Fuller; brother, John Miller; twelve grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews; and exchange student, Cees Rijksen of Netherlands and his family.

Along with his wife of 61 years, Bert was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim, Paul, and Dale Miller; sisters Mary Kay Woodruff and his twin sister, Gert Quick.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 4 to 7pm, and Wednesday, March 4th from 10am until the time of the service at 11am at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Darin Hendry will officiate. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bert’s honor to St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
