Big Second Half Leads Clinton Prairie Past Delphi

Grant McGraw led four players in double figures with 21 points as Clinton Prairie used a big second half performance to defeat Delphi 64-49 Saturday night in Jefferson.

Trailing 26-21 at halftime, the Gophers outscored the Oracles 43-23 in the second half, including 24-9 in the third quarter, to pull away and get the victory.

Bailey Good had a double-double for Prairie with 11 points, 15 rebounds and a team-high six assists.. Mason McGraw and Trevor Funk also reached double figures with 10 points apiece. Brandon Mosson added seven points for the Gophers, 2-3. Delphi fell to 4-3.

On Friday night, Grant McGraw had a team-high 11 points for Prairie in a 76-39 loss at Lafayette Central Catholic. The Gophers trailed 40-9 at halftime and were held scoreless in the first quarter.

Frankfort Wrestling

Frankfort went 2-3 Saturday at the FHS Super Duels. The Hot Dogs defeated Lebanon 60-24 and Cascade 53-24 and lost two close matches to Shelbyville 42-35 and Kokomo 39-32. .They also lost to invite champions Hamilton Southeastern 57-18.

Zeke VanDeventer, Diego Nava and Elijah Anthony all went 5-0 on the day for FHS.

Rossville Basketball

The Rossville boys’ basketball team won its fourth straight Saturday night with a 60-40 victory over Western in Rossville. The only loss for the Hornets was a season-opening 63-61 loss at Lafayette Harrison. On Friday night, the Hornets defeated Frontier 69-34.

Frankfort Basketball

The Frankfort boys’ basketball team fell to 1-5 with a 56-46 loss at Lewis Cass Saturday night.

Both the Frankfort High School boys’ and girls’ teams fell to Tri-West at home Friday night. The boys lost 70-39, while the girls were beaten 61-31. The girls are now 4-7.

On Tuesday, Rylee Seibert had 20 points, Kimee Kingma had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Emily Michael finished with 11 points as the Lady Hot Dogs rolled past Faith Christian 67-24 at Case Arena. .Frankfort led 26-4 after one quarter and 43-14 at halftime.

Clinton Central Basketball

Clinton Central fell to 0-4 following a 55-52 loss at home to Attica Saturday night. On Friday night, the Bulldogs fell 50-43 at Sheridan.

Frankfort Swimming

On Wednesday, Frankfort lost 95-68 to Southmont in boys’ swimming action, while the girls fell 108-59 to Southmont.

Event winners for the Hot Dogs in the girls’ meet included the 200-yard medley relay team of Kileigh Adams-Long, Aubrey Teter, Patciance Dean and Karely Santos. In the boys’ meet, the 200-yard medley relay team of Aizik Niccum, Adam Haynes, Antoni Lopez Veloz and Evan Jordan were victorious. Jordan also won the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, Tyler Harness won the 500 freestyle and Haynes won the 100 breaststroke.
