Bill J. Street, 93, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at his home. He was born October 31, 1925, in Frankfort, to John D. and Ruth L. (Kinnaman) Street. On June 29, 1955, Bill married Ruth E. Johnson; she preceded him in death on September 8, 2008.
From 1944 to 1946, Bill served in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning home, he graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1947. Bill worked at Allison Transmission from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. He had previously worked for Ingram-Richardson in Frankfort. Bill was a member of Grace Point Church in New Whiteland and Paul Phillippe Resource Center. He was a talented artist using pencils as his medium; Bill also enjoyed taking photos and creating family videos.
Surviving Bill are his daughters, Nancy (Scott) Edmonds and Emily (Travis) Smith, both of Frankfort; grandchildren, Kelsey, Travis Michael, and Darian; great grandsons, Axel and Silas; and sister, Carol Sue Clouser, of Lebanon.
In addition to his wife, Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Woods, and her husband, Willis; nephews, Dennis and Jan Woods; and brother-in-law, Jack Clouser.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 12 noon. Pastor Stan Glover will officiate.
