Blaine was a 1970 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School and a lifelong Clinton County resident. He proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked for the Indiana State Police for 34 years, where he was a trooper, detective, hostage negotiator and Master Sergeant, retiring in 2010. Blain had also worked with the railroad and TTG. He refereed for 40 years during basketball season, since his children were in high school and was also a crop, sheep and cattle farmer. Blaine was a member of the IHSAA, enjoyed farming, golfing, refereeing, and was an avid Purdue fan. His family was everything to him, especially his grandchildren.
Blaine is survived by wife: Robin E. Butler of Frankfort, daughter: Kimberly (Ned) Klotz of Brownsburg, son: Blaine (Melinda) Butler Jr. of Frankfort, 6 grandchildren: Shelby, Larissa and Austyn Butler all of Frankfort, Arianna, Samantha and Adeline Klotz all of Brownsburg. He is preceded in death by his parents and his parent-in-laws, Everett & Esther Kesterson, brothers-in-law: Jimmie (Elaine) Kesterson of Lafayette and Mike (Sue) Kesterson of Golf Port, MS.
Funeral Services
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 11th at the funeral home. Shan Sheridan will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. The family strongly encourages friend and family to wear Purdue gear, farming gear or casual attire.
