Boogie Woogie Kid Coming to Library on May 4

The Friends of the Frankfort Library are excited to present the Boogie Woogie Kid on May 4 at 2 p.m. in the Elizabeth O’Rear Skanta Theatre. Theatre doors will open at 1:30 p.m. This concert is appropriate for all ages and would be a great family event.  Tickets are $13 each and can be purchased at the Frankfort Library Circulation desk with cash, check or credit card.  Tickets may also be reserved over the phone with a credit card.

Matthew Ball, aka the Boogie Woogie Kid, was part of the Friends Concert Series last year.  He had such a great response from concert goers; we had to bring him back for an encore.  Matthew presents an upbeat program of piano, song, Boogie-n-Blues, Jazz & Rags with arrangements of classic American songs like Ain’t Misbehavin, When the Saints Go Marchin In, Over the Rainbow, Basin Street Blues, Bumble Boogie, The Entertainer, Glory of Love, and more.

A former attorney, Matthew left the practice after he attended a hometown boogie-woogie festival.  He was so awestruck by the performances; he left his career as an attorney to become a blues & boogie-woogie performing artist.  This all begin in 2001 and with a lot of hard work and effort he is now an internationally recognized practitioner and his performances span over 12 states.
