Boone County Fugitive Investigation Leads to Arrest in Elkhart, Indiana

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) successfully concluded a fugitive
investigation involving Torrance Edwards, 22, of Kirklin, Indiana. Edwards was wanted on a Boone
County warrant for Violation of Probation and Community Corrections stemming from a Level 2 Felony
conviction of Dealing in a Controlled Substance and a Level 6 Felony conviction of Strangulation.
The investigation began on July 28, 2025, and after more than a week of coordinated efforts, Edwards
surrendered to CIU and local authorities in Elkhart, Indiana, on August 7, 2025, around 4:00 PM. Edwards
has been transported and booked into the Ern K. Justice Center.
This case involved critical interagency cooperation, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office would like to
thank the Frankfort Police Department, Indiana State Police, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, Elkhart
Police Department, Boone County Community Corrections and Boone County Probation for their
assistance in bringing this case to a successful resolution.
