A Boone County man faces a murder charge after his wife’s disappearance. On Friday, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office says they started investigating after a co-worker of 41-year-old Elizabeth Wilhoite’s said she didn’t show up to work. After responding to the house for a welfare check, they started searching for her. They called in ISP when they discovered a conflict of interest. The suspect’s mother is a Boone County councilwoman. The suspect is 39-year-old Andrew Wilhoite. Sargent Ron Galaviz with Indiana State Police says it appears Wilhoite hit his wife with a blunt object. Early Saturday morning, her body was recovered partially submerged. Police say Elizabeth had filed for divorce recently after a 12-year marriage. Andrew was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of murder and booked into the Boone County Jail.
