Boone County Sheriff’s Office Raises Awareness For Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has released information encouraging the community to bind together to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office released information stating that child abuse occurs in every part of society, and while rates of physical abuse and neglect are affected by socioeconomic status, child sexual abuse perpetration and victimization occurs in all parts of society.

“At the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, we’re committed to protecting our children,” the department released. “Every child deserves a safe and loving environment. Together, let’s advocate for policies that support families, educate our communities and provide assistance to those in need.”

The Sheriff’s Office stated that suspected child abuse or neglect should immediately be reported to the Indiana Department of Child Services reporting hotline at 800-800-5556.

“Let’s work together to create a safer future for our children,” the department released.
