Boone County Sheriff’s Office Relocates to the Ern K. Hudson Justice Center

Information Provided by the Boone County Sheriff's Office

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announces its official relocation to the Ern K. Hudson Justice Center, effective Thursday, May 22, 2025.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is the only department moving into the facility. All other county offices and departments will remain at their current locations until further notice.
The new location features upgraded facilities, enhanced security, and modern technology, marking a major step forward in expanding operational capacity and improving the efficiency of daily public safety services. This move reflects the County’s commitment to investing in infrastructure that supports the safety and well-being of all Boone County residents.
To commemorate this important milestone, the American, Indiana, and Boone County flags were raised outside the Justice Center on May 22, 2025, by Sheriff Tony Harris, Chief Deputy Mike Beard, and Director of Capital Investments Max Mendenhall.
While this relocation is now complete, the Ern K. Hudson Justice Center is still undergoing final adjustments. Please note that this is not a grand opening event. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and public grand opening will be announced at a later date, once the building is fully completed and all systems are fully operational.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds for generously sharing their space with us over the past two and a half years. Their support was instrumental in allowing us to continue uninterrupted service to the community during this transitional period. We appreciate the community’s patience and support during this move and look forward to serving you from our new home
The public should now visit the Ern K. Hudson Justice Center for all services provided by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
