Boone County Sheriff’s Office representatives attended the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Legislative meeting at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to speak amongst other representatives from counties across the state to address issues and possibilities for Boone County and beyond.

Sheriff Tony Harris and Chief Deputy Mike Beard attended the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Legislative Meeting for the 5th and final Legislator Roundtable for 2024.

“The relationship building ISA is doing is extremely important for our Hoosiers,” the association released. “Our Hoosiers deserve strong policy that allows a strong Indiana moving into the future.”

Harris released a statement regarding the importance of Boone County’s attendance at the association’s events, stating that the culmination of the voices of Sheriffs from the 92 counties in Indiana allows for the association to better serve the communities it represents.

“We often get asked about what the ISA does,” Harris shared. “In a nutshell, it’s 92 sheriffs in the state working as one to make their offices, counties and communities better.”

The association also recently presented high school and college students across the state with scholarships for those intending to continue their careers in law enforcement and criminal justice.
