Boone County Solid Waste Management District 5-Part Education Series Continues March 24

The Boone County Solid Waste Management District has announced its upcoming five-part education series based around teaching community members about their role in protecting the local environment.

The program is open to school-age kids through adult ages. The programs are set to occur at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library in Zionsville.

Program Dates (All Programs Are 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.)

    • Closing the loop
  • April 21: Composting
    • Composting 101
    • Reducing food waste
    • Shopping smart
  • May 15: Our Waterways
    • Where does it go
    • Pollution prevention
    • Litter
  • June 12: Carbon Footprint
    • Defining
    • Calculating
    • Reducing

Community members who attend three classes will earn a special gift, and those who attend all five classes will receive a prize pack. To be eligible for the prize pack, community members must have attended the Feb. 24 edition of the series.
