Brandon “Troy” Vibbert, 44,of Bringhurst was born January 15, 1973, in Lafayette, ended his constant battle with himself on December 25, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a Union member of Local 22 as an Ironworker.
Troy wore his heart on his sleeve and loved everyone he encountered. He was extremely passionate about music. Troy’s hobbies included playing guitar, making and writing music, spending time with his two grandchildren, making people laugh, and tinkering with random things; he was a jack-of-all-trades.
He is survived by his parents, Estal and Kay (Young) Vibbert; daughter, McKenzie Vibbert; grandchildren, Kaydence Vibbert and Knox Adams; brother, Shawn Ward; wife, Patricia Vibbert; stepson, Quiaton Lindsey and stepgraddaughter, Makenna Lindsey; niece, Lydia Ward; great niece, Ava Fryk; great nephew, Braydyn Brown; uncles, Bill Brower, Ernie Vibbert, and Bill Vibbert; aunts, Nancy Brower Haines, Bonnie Demerly, Nomie McCarty, and Emily Sanson; and numerous cousins.
Troy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Marybell Brower, and Frank and Vira Mae Vibbert; aunt, Carol Brower Stockdale; and uncle, Eddie Vibbert.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora, from 4:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Joe Boggs will officiate. Inurnment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in the spring of 2018. In lieu of flowers, Troy’s family asks that donations be made to Brady’s Hope or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-8255) in memory of Troy.
