Brian D Heimbach

Brian D. Heimbach, 62, longtime Frankfort and current Lebanon resident, died March 2, 2024.  He was born December 3, 1961 in Frankfort, Ind. to Jerry D. & Sharon K. (Gumm) Heimbach.  He married Kelli Sue Kersey on August 4, 1984.

Brian began his career in funeral service in 1985.  His association with the Goodwin Funeral Home family spanned over 3 generations of the firm.  Brian and Kelli also owned and operated Main Street Monuments LLC from 1988-2021.  He was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church and served on several boards and committees in the Frankfort community through the years.  Some of Brian’s joys were traveling with Kelli, coaching high school sports, racing trips on the “Methanol Express” and fishing the bays of the Gulf of Mexico with Braxton. His greatest love by far was being “BaBa” to Drew, Audrey and Maddie.

In addition to Kelli, he is survived by his daughter:  Carmen E. (David) Cannon of Lebanon, son:  Braxton P. (Angela) Heimbach of St. Petersburg, FL, brother:  Robert P. (Annette) Heimbach of Roswell, GA, grandchildren:  Andrew G. “Drew” and Audra K. “Audrey” Cannon and Madeleine R. “Maddie” Heimbach, and mother-in-law:  Janice Kersey of Frankfort. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gary B. Kersey.

Funeral Service:

 Memorial visitation with the Heimbach family will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Private family burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, Ind. with Rev. Phil Lake officiating.  Brian asks that memorial donations be made to the Bunnell Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 38, Frankfort, IN  46041.
