BZA Approves New Business on East Side of Frankfort

The Board of Zoning Appeals on Wednesday night unanimously approved a special exception use variance for Dirtbuster Carwash so they can put a new business at South Crescent Drive and East Wabash Street of the East Park Addition.

“I think it’s going to brighten up the east side of town and give it a little spark down there,” said Frankfort Building Inspector Sam Payne. “It’s a new style carwash and they’ve got a great location there on 28.”

The property is located between multiple businesses in the overlay district. There are two areas of exit through the property which provides smooth transitions for exiting and entering the property. The property also has sheds which are located for sale, but those will be removed. Hawaiian Shaved Ice is also located on the parcel.

Overall, there is 3.3 aces located on the parcel with the current zoning being Roadside Business. The existing use on the property is all related to retail with the proposed use of a carwash.
