Camp Cullom is a special place.
This weekend families traveled from as far as Colorado to visit Camp Cullom and enjoy the Prairie Grass Habitat, Astronomical Observatory, Trails, Playground, Hay rides, Food for sale at the Rotary Shelter (Astro-Grill) and more.

109 people pre-registered then the gates opened up Friday and Saturday night to the general public to enjoy viewing the starry skies through over 40 telescopes and binoculars. By the time the weekend was over 200 to 300 people enjoyed the weather, stars, trails, talks, prizes, food and fun.
The Indiana Family Star Party is an annual event usually held the last new moon before school starts. This event is the largest annual astronomy event in the State of Indiana and attracts families from over 5 states each year.
Expert speakers were on hand Saturday afternoon to talk about the 2024 April 8 Total Solar Eclipse, the James Webb Telescope and what it is reveling about exploding stars and a new private company that is planning to deliver packages and supplies to the moon sooner than you might think.
The event is also one of Camp Cullom’s largest fundraisers of the year.
Camp Cullom is a United Way agency and relies upon United Way funds to deliver services to residents throughout the year. The event takes over 40 volunteers to operate. This is the 20th year for the event.
