Canal Association to Host Dynamic Speaker

Danny Russel performs as Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President.

The public is invited to join Wabash & Erie Canal members at the association’s annual meeting Tuesday, April 16, in the Canal Center, 1030 North Washington Street, Delphi. The program begins at 7 p.m. and features a brief business session followed by an entertaining guest in person performer. Refreshments and visiting with friends will follow.  Admission is free.

For the second time in a year our speaker, Danny Russel, will provide another of his character portrayals.  This time a grand adventure of story and first-person tales featuring Abraham Lincoln.  Russel offers hilarity, heartbreak and humanity as he travels from a log cabin to the White House.  Learn about those crucial Indiana boyhood years (age 7-21) prior to his success as a prairie lawyer, through his political aspirations, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, Civil War tragedy and triumph, brilliant speeches, freedom for slaves and much more.  “All men are created equal” was more than a phrase from our Founding Fathers; it served as Lincoln’s
clarion call!
