At approximately 1:04 p.m. Friday, Boone County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to 3775 North US 52 reference a single vehicle crash, overturned, with entrapment. The vehicle, a tan Lincoln Continental, was traveling southbound on US 52, crossed the median, traveled through northbound traffic, and flipped in the east side ditch.Arriving deputies located the inverted vehicle in the ditch, with no occupants around. Witnesses stated that a white male with long dark hair wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt removed himself from the vehicle and fled on foot northbound. A passerby called in to the Boone County Communications Center to say, a subject fitting that description asked him for a ride, but he declined. Further investigation revealed the subject stole a golf cart from the Trophy Club and ditched it further north of the scene. Boone County K9’s, along with a National Guard Helicopter searched the area but could not locate the driver.
