Carroll Band Students Achieve Gold At ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble

The Carroll Consolidated School Corporation Band saw multiple members reach for the gold at the Indiana State School Music Association State Solo and Ensemble competition over the weekend, including members ranging from freshmen to seniors.

Santiago Rodriguez, freshman, earned gold for an Alto Sax Solo. Dylan Heffley, junior, earned gold for a Clarinet Solo. Braidan Wood, junior, earned gold with distinction for Flute Solo.

The Saxophone Quartet also achieved gold for their performance. The quartet is comprised of Anna Unger, junior, on Soprano, Andalynn Hayden, senior, on Alto, Santiago Rodriguez, freshman, on Tenor and Dylan Heffley, junior, on Bari.

“This quartet also made recent school history as Carroll High School has not had any ensembles go to State in over twenty years, let alone an ensemble that achieved gold,” the school released. “Congratulations again to these talented musicians.”
