Carroll Cougar Harness Secures Spot In 19th Annual Hoosier Gym Classic All-Star Game

A Carroll County Tiger was named as a 2024 Hoosier Gym All Star and will compete in the Hoosier Gym Classic All Star Game on Saturday, April 27.

As the 19th Annual Hoosier Gym Classic All-Star Game is being announced at the Knightstown historic Hoosier Gym, which is the home of the movie “Hoosiers,” 22 high school basketball players were named as participants in the All Star Game, including Carroll County’s own Alli Harness.

Harness was noted as a pivotal team member of the Carroll Cougars team and has been recognized as only the second Senior All Star, following Darlene Zinn in 1977.

The 19th Annual game will be a girls’ and boys’ doubleheader classic that will take place on Saturday, April 27 with the girls game starting at 12 p.m. The boys’ game will follow. Tickets for the event will be $25 for access to both games, and 225 tickets are currently on sale, and 225 more tickets will be placed on sale once the boys’ players are announced in early April. Tickets are limited to 450 and may be obtained at thehoosiergym.com.

The teams will be coached by renowned coaches across the state with Shari Doud of Eastern Hancock and Melissa Winkler of Rushville coaching the Trehune Tigers and Amy Shearer of Columbia City and Olivia Shearer coaching the Hickory Huskers.

Harness has made a name for herself in the Indiana girls’ basketball circuit, being named Carroll’s all-time leading scorer, and has committed to Western Michigan University to pursue her passions even further.
